International Christian speaker and musician John Bell to speak on Sexuality and the Church at All Saints
Renowned hymn-writer and theologian John Bell will speak on ‘Sexuality and the Church’ at All Saints Church.
The questions he will look at include:
What does the Bible actually teach about homosexuality?
How can the church move away from its homophobic image?
What are the key issues for the church around same-sex marriage?
Can we view gayness as a gift, rather than an issue?
The lecture will take place on Wednesday 20th May at 7.30pm in the church.
Admission is free by ticket or at the door; with a suggested donation of £3. More details and tickets may be booked here.
This is one of a series of public lectures at the church. The first was by Michael Northcott, Professor of Ethics at Edinburgh University, who spoke on ‘The Politics of Climate Change’ in September 2014.
Rector Canon David Hodgson said: "We want to explore key issues for the church and society and we invite everyone - whether church-goer or not - to these sessions."
